How To Wire a BMS

  1. The first step is to connect your main neg. terminal of the battery to B- on the BMS board.
  2. Begin connecting the small wires from the ribbon cable as follows:
    • Start with the first wire of the ribbon cable. It is usually black, on the right hand side, and sometimes denoted with a 1 printed on the board.
    • The first wire of the ribbon cable connects to the neg. (-) terminal of the second cell in series.
      (you already connected the first one when you connected B-)
    • Connect the wires from the ribbon cable in order, the second wire goes on the neg. (-) terminal of the third cell and so on.
    • The last wire of the ribbon cable goes on the pos. (+) terminal of the last cell.
  3. The negative lead from your charger connects to C- on the BMS board.
  4. The positive lead from your charger connects to your battery's positive terminal.
  5. The negative output (to your controller) is P- on the BMS board.
  6. The positive output (to your controller) is the positive terminal of your battery.
